In honour of my best friend and companion, Zeus.

To those of you new to my website or social media, Zeus was my best friend and companion for 12.5 years, my entire adult life. Zeus and I were partners in crime, getting out for hikes, paddle boarding, beach days, trail & city walks, snowshoeing, and road trips. He had a large presence on my business social media, and most clients I work with heard of Zeus in conversation.

Zeus was an incredibly friendly soul, who was always by my side full of attitude, barks and howls, and had a love for food and the water. He was my anchor and constant during many moves, post-secondary studies, breakups, ‘coming out,’ a journey of trauma, family crises with mental illness, addiction and physical anomalies, and a global pandemic.

Zeus was diagnosed with an adenocarcinoma of his intestines on June 2, 2022, and at that time, our only choice was to take the path of palliative care. Only 18 days later, on June 20, 2022, I took Zeus’ lead and made the call to his vet for home euthanasia. He died in my arms. During those 18 days, Zeus and I did absolutely everything we could to ensure his days were as beautiful as possible.

Sometimes, there are just no words. I love you, my boy.
