Michael Kluba
I grew up parentified in a family with mental illness, addiction, and physical disability. I’ve experienced my own journey with mental illness, behavioural addiction, developmental + relational trauma, and grief, of which I’m in recovery for, and I have a chronic and progressive neurological condition, which is a whole story of its own. As a therapist though, I can see all the intricacies and interconnectedness of it all. Quite frankly, human beings and family systems fascinate me, and I’m deeply passionate about the work I do.
I approach therapy eclectically, which means I use a variety of modalities with each individual I’m working with based on the needs that you and I, together, decide. Trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and person-centred care should be the standard of practice. As such, I approach therapy from this lens.
